SKELETON WOMAN

In "Women who run with the wolves"
Clarissa Pinkola Estes, talks about
an Inuit story called "The Skeleton
Woman" which explores the idea of
woman and love relationship as
something bound up with the life/
death/decay cycle, aging, imperfection,
the grotesque, as opposed to the
notion such as the one popularised
in media/advertising prevalent
especially in the West, of the
ideal woman as "perfect",
beautiful in a particular way,
and "forever young".
